Introduction
Every semester comes with a special challenge for the students to tackle in the form of a project known as “Capstone”.
كل ترم بيكون فيه تحدي للطلبة عشان يشتغلوا عليه في شكل مشروع اسمه Capstone.
How Capstone is graded
The capstone project is worth 60% of your grade in G10 and G11 but is worth only 20% of your grade in G12, and is graded based on the portfolio, the poster, the journals, the logbook, and the evaluation day.
مشروع الـ Capstone بيمثل 60% من الدرجة في سنة اولي و تانية, لكن في سنة تالتة بيمثل 20% بس من الدرجة. والـ Capstone بيتقيّم بناءً على ال Portfolio، وال Poster، وال Journals، وال Logbook، ويوم الـEvaluation.
Shared and individual grades
The portfolio and poster’s grades are the same for all of the team members, but the journals, logbooks, and evaluation grades are individual and vary between the members.
درجة الـPortfolio والPoster بتكون نفس الدرجة لكل أعضاء الـTeam، لكن درجات الـ Journals وال Logbooks وال Evaluation بتكون فردية وممكن تختلف من Member للتاني.
Team size by grade
In grade 10, your team will consist of 5 members, 4 members in grade 11, and down to only 3 in grade 12.
في سنة اولي بيكون فريقك من 5 اعضاء و في تانية بكتونوا 4 لكن في تالتة بتكونوا 3 فقط.
Your Capstone challenge
Each semester, the students are handed a challenge that usually aims to solve a problem tied to 4 or more of Egypt’s grand challenges, with specific solution and design requirements and constraints (more on that later), but for now let’s see some examples of Capstone challenges.
في كل ترم، الطلبة بيتم تقديم Challenge ليهم، والـChallenge دي غالبًا بتكون هدفها حل مشكلة مرتبطة بـ4 أو أكتر من الـGrand Challenges بتوع مصر، وبيكون معاها Solution و Design Requirements وConstraints محددة، وهنشرح تفاصيل أكتر عنهم بعدين في الجايد.

Official files and templates
In this drive, you will find many official capstone files, like rubrics, calendars, and challenges, that give you a general idea of what the challenges are like/what themes they use; it also has templates you can use as a guide for formatting and ordering. Don’t worry about going through all this material; you’ll know it when you need it, which is not right now.
